Get to Know the 2024 Chevrolet Trax

July 6th, 2023 by

The Chevy Trax is a crossover SUV that fits comfortably in the subcompact arena. While it was first on the market in 2013, it was introduced as a 2015 model. It continues to be produced, and there are changes expected in 2024. In 2024, consumers can expect it to be completely redesigned with a stylish new look, additional space, and enhanced safety features. Despite these changes, it still has an affordable price tag. The Trax is designed to be a practical and affordable vehicle that can handle a variety of driving conditions. This article will give you updated information about what we believe will be incorporated in the 2024 version of the Trax.

Changes in 2024

While technically, Chevy continued to manufacture the Trax; it did have a brief hiatus. However, it is making its reappearance this Spring. The newer version has more standard options than previous versions. The 2024 version has an expanded interior giving more legroom to the
backseat passengers. Thanks to a longer wheelbase, it also has more cargo space. Previous versions of the Trax only offered two trim levels, but the newest model offers five.

Another feature to note is that the Trax borrows its engine from the Trailblazer, which actually gives it less horsepower than it had previously. This reduction may seem significant and surprising to some. However, in 2024, it will have a 137-horsepower turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, which is a substantial reduction from the 155 horsepower of past models.

2024 Trim Levels

There are five trim options; LS, IRS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV, in the upcoming Chevy Trax.

The base model, which is the LS, starts at around $21,495. The IRS, which starts around $23,195, is also considered more a base trim than the middle of the road. Both of the base models will be equipped with an 8-inch infotainment screen and have physical dials in the instrument cluster.

In the middle of the trim levels, you will find the LT. The LT starts at around $23,395. It gives drivers the most bang for their buck. It’s affordable while offering a good amount of features. It has a larger infotainment touchscreen at 11 inches and a remote start. This level replaces the physical dials with a digital display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard at this trim level. In addition, you have the option to upgrade to heated front seats, heated mirrors, and a heated steering wheel. Finally, the LT trim and above offer a wireless phone charger as an option.

The 2RS and ACTIV are the top of the line trims, and you can expect them both to start around $24,995. They feature an 11-inch infotainment system with a digital display. In addition, this trim level offers a sunroof as an option. The ACTIV trim features leatherette seats with yellow stitching.

The 2024 Trax is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine. While the amount of power and torque it will have hasn’t quite been finalized, the estimate is that it will have about 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. As a result, the new Trax may not have a lot of get-up-and-go. The fuel economy hasn’t been rated by the EPA for the 2024 Trax, but we can give some good estimates on gas mileage. The expectation is that it will have a range of 24 to 28 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

Increased Safety

You can expect the Trax to have a wide range of safety and driver-assistance features. Chevy has the Safety Assist suite on its vehicle. Some of the key features you can expect to see include adaptive cruise control. You will also find automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection as standard options. Other standard options are lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning.
